Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat campaign
To achieve the objective of 'Viksit Bharat' through holistic development and empowerment of girls,
several efforts are made by the government. One of the major challenges which is the Child Marriage in
the country is a big impediment in achieving this vision. To tackle this issue effectively the Hon’ble
Minister of Women and Child Development has launched "Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat" campaign on 27 November,
2024 to raise awareness on the issue and
eliminate child marriages across the country with a 'Whole of Government' and 'Whole of Society'
approach.
Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat PortalThis portal is a unique initiative
of the Ministry of Women and
Child Development to provide a publicly available centralised repository of information of Child
Marriage Prohibition Officers appointed across the country, effective reporting mechanism for
incidences of child marriage cases and the initiative taken for raising awareness amongst
stakeholders and the citizens.
